The Healthcare program addresses the critical challenge of accessing basic medical care in South Sudan, a crisis exacerbated by recurrent flooding, political instability, and economic hardship. Focusing on women, children, and other vulnerable groups, we work to improve community health knowledge while expanding direct access to essential medical services.

In response to widespread food insecurity, our program integrates nutritional programming directly into local health systems and builds mechanisms for active community involvement. This approach aligns with national efforts to deliver a Basic Package of Health and Nutrition Services through high-impact, community-level interventions.

How We Work

Rather than relying solely on static facilities, we take healthcare directly to the communities that need it most. We bridge the gap between emergency medical needs and long-term community wellness through a comprehensive approach:

  • Community Health Outreach: Conducting sensitization meetings, deploying mobile health teams to reach remote populations, and leading public health awareness campaigns.
  • Integration of Nutritional Programming: Performing malnutrition screenings for children under five, providing therapeutic feeding and supplements, and promoting optimal infant and young child feeding practices.
  • Strengthening Community Health Systems: Training community health workers under the Boma Health Initiative, strengthening disease surveillance and referral networks, and facilitating community dialogues to remove barriers to care.
  • Sexual & Reproductive Health (SRH) and GBV Services: Providing essential maternal, neonatal, and child health care, alongside compassionate case management, psychosocial support, and safe spaces for survivors of Gender-Based Violence (GBV).
  •

Quality & Dignity

Access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right that restores dignity and preserves life in vulnerable communities.

Community Resilience

Healthy communities are the foundation of resilience; when we protect mothers and children, we safeguard the future.

Why It Matters

Preventable diseases, severe acute malnutrition, and maternal health complications continue to claim lives across South Sudan due to disrupted infrastructure and long distances to medical facilities. Women and young children bear the heaviest burden when essential health services are out of reach.

By integrating nutrition, maternal care, and mobile outreach into the local health structure, we save lives today while establishing a stronger, community-owned foundation for health and well-being tomorrow.
