Provide Information and Services on Lifesaving Sexual Reproductive Health and Gender based Violence Prevention, Risk mitigation and Response Intervention in Abyei Administrative Area.

In collaborates with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), African Christian Ecumenical Alliance (ACEA) implemented a joint program, Promoting spaces for conflict prevention and reduced vulnerability in Abyei: A Joint Programme of the RCs in Sudan and South Sudan in Abyei was to support sexual and reproductive health services, mitigate Gender Based Violence (GBV) and promotes inter-and intra-stakeholder dialogue and trauma awareness supported to advance social cohesion and peace-building. The project support health care to enhanced through provision of essential preventive and curative medical services to vulnerable population, stakeholder-driven identification, design, prioritization and implementation of humanitarian, peace and development services interventions enhance ownership and sustainability of inter-and intra-communal initiatives.

Furthermore, UNFPA support functioning of national multi-sectoral coordination mechanism for ending child marriage/GBV in Abyei Administrative Area including conducting mulit-sectoral/stakeholders county level sensitization meetings/dialogues on social norms, GBV and ending child marriage, conduct lobby meetings for enactment of policies/ law / by laws/ Resolutions on GBV including child marriage, early pregnancy related issues- (e.g. GBV act, by laws, Customary bills, Child Marriage declarations, Actions plans). Establish and functioning of GBV referral pathways. Strength state and community level prevention to GBV and harmful practices including child marriage/early pregnancy. Conduct community mobilization and sensitization meetings on social norms, GBV and ending child marriage and early pregnancy -Explore models SASA, explore collaboration in the context of MOH BCC strategy etc. Conduct radio programmes on social norms, GBV and ending child marriage involving state and county leadership, religious leaders, cultural leaders, women leaders/ groups, youth leaders etc.

Enhancing humanitarian coordination, GBV Prevention, Risk Mitigation and Response services to conflict-affected population in Abyei Administrative Area.

International Organization for Migration (IOM), through Rapid Response Fund Programme, provided 9 months project to enhancing humanitarian coordination, GBV Prevention, Risk Mitigation and Response services to conflict-affected population in Abyei Administrative Area. The activities were includes; Community-based awareness on GBV prevention, risk mitigation and response services including on Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse. Male Engagement on GBV Prevention and response including changing of social norms and harmful cultural practice Training for GBV Caseworkers and Social workers on GBV case management including topics on PSEA Capacity building training on clinical management of rape survivors for health workers Establish and empower community-based safety patrols or firewood or water collection group Provision of GBV case management services to GBV survivors by case workers Establish Women and Girls’ friendly Space GBV subcluster State Focal Point leading activities coordination and reporting for Abyei (Support GBV AoR monthly Coordination meetings Provide Capacity building training on GBV emergency preparedness, contingency planning and Integrating GBV interventions, into sectoral response Conduct joint safety audit assessment Conduct GBV service mapping, GBV SoP development and GBV referral pathway workshop.

Economic Empowerment and Business Development for women and Youth in Abyei Administrative Area

United Nations Development Program under Abyei Joint Program supported consortium of National NGOs; Facilitating Acton for Community Empowerment (FACE) and Africa Christian Ecumenical Alliance (ACEA) to implement Economic Empowerment and Business Development for women and Youth project in Abyei Administrative Area. The project aimed to increase the participation of 150 women and 75 youth in economic activities enhanced the business skills of women and youth in Abyei Administrative area, establishment of number of small businesses led by women/Young girls and youth and supported family members with basic needs such as food and non-food items.

Localization Emergency Response for the support of most vulnerable flood affected households in Twic County, Warrap State.

Save the Children International (SCI), through the Local Response Pooled Fund-Funded by DANIDA awarded a grant to African Christian Ecumenical Alliance South Sudan for Enhancing Localization Emergency Response for the support of most vulnerable flood affected households in Twic County, Warrap State. The project provided an emergency response for displaced communities and support female headed households to have increased access to non-food items, hygiene and COVID 19 awareness to enable them to restore lost basic household commodities that they may have lost due to the floods. ACEA worked through to save the lives of affected communities, improve their wellbeing and enhance resilience building. The provision of the Non-Food Items, hygiene and COVID19 Awareness benefited and improved the lives of flood affected population in Twic County-Warrap state. The most vulnerable flood affected families with fully damaged houses who lost their entire houses need lifesaving shelter assistance where been supported. Most of the f loods affected people are still displaced and living in high grounds without shelters. Displaced people especially women and adolescence girls, children, people with disability and elderly people are without any shelter are living on the embankment, road and open space; need emergency lifesaving shelter assistance.

Empowering Girl Child to Combat Early and Forced Marriage in Western Bahr el-Ghazal State

Democracy International/USAID-under SUCCESS Programme awarded six months Sub awarded grant to promoting Local Advocacy for Girls Rights Education and Countering Gender Based Violence, through Empowering Girl Child to Combat Early and Forced Marriage in Western Bahr el-Ghazal State includes community awareness, formation and empowerment of the school clubs and youth groups, training of teachers and local authorities, dramas, jingles and radio talk shows, brass band road-show, sensitization initiative to PTA, teachers and local authorities on sexual harassment and child protection, organized a one-day stakeholders forum and held a joint advocacy event on ending Girl child marriage and girls access to education.
