The decades of conflict and under-development has resulted in low education levels in South Sudan including; low education enrollment, more than half of secondary school age children are out of school-with the figure reaching more than 75% for rural girls. 2.2. million School age children are out of school.

Parents fear girls may experience sexual abuse at school and this can impact ability to marry and obtain bride price. Teenager pregnancy, early, forced marriage and early sexual activity leads to early dropout of girls from school.

African Christian Ecumenical Alliance supports inclusive, quality education and lifelong learning forĀ children and adults in rural and urban areas across the country.
